How to Authenticate CryptoCard KT-1 Tokens using PHP

This page links to all the information I've collected about how to authenticate CryptoCard KT-1 tokens using PHP.

My usage of KT-1 tokens is a bit unconventional in that:

• It works best in my application to initialize the tokens on a Windows machine but to authenticate them on a Linux machine.  (Reason: the server that I use is about 100 miles away from the location from which it is used.)
• I'm using the AuthEngine product from CryptoCard (rather than a server product).  (AuthEngine is essentially a set of token initialization and authentication libraries for both Linux and Windows.)

There were several subtasks to complete:
